My Lunar New Year Plans
The Lunar New Year holiday festival is almost here, and in this blog, I am going to tell you about my vacation plans. Firstly, I plan to visit my grandparents’ house. Then I’m going to visit my best friend’s family. Finally, I plan to go and see a traditional temple celebration in my hometown.
The reason I’m going to my grandparents’ house first is because we always have a big family reunion there, and it’s a tradition to enjoy the New Year’s Eve dinner together. While I’m there, I will help prepare dumplings with my grandparents and set up the decorations for the holiday. I am very excited to visit my grandparents because it’s a chance to reconnect with my family and hear stories about their childhood during this special time.
After visiting my grandparents, I am planning to visit my best friend’s family. The reason I want to go there is to exchange red envelopes and enjoy their homemade New Year desserts. While I’m there, I will play some board games with my friend and enjoy the New Year’s fireworks display with their family. I am very happy about going to my best friend’s house because it’s always a lively and fun atmosphere there.
Finally, I will visit a traditional temple celebration. I want to see the lion dances and watch people praying for good fortune in the coming year. While I’m there, I will light incense to make my own wishes and enjoy the festive market stalls selling snacks and souvenirs. I am looking forward to going to the temple celebration because it’s such a colorful and exciting event that represents the spirit of the Lunar New Year.
These are my Lunar New Year Plans. In Taiwan, the Lunar New Year is a time for family reunions, feasting on traditional foods, and giving red envelopes as a symbol of blessings and prosperity. Many people clean their homes beforehand to sweep away bad luck and decorate with red paper couplets. Fireworks displays and dragon or lion dances are also common, adding to the festive atmosphere. It’s a holiday full of joy, traditions, and wishes for a happy and prosperous year ahead.
